Use cases
Pub quiz nights and bar events
Music bingo is one of the most popular pub quiz formats. Put together a playlist of 30–40 well-known tracks, shuffle it through the speakers, and let your punters mark their cards as they recognise each song. Our templates for 80s hitmakers and 90s music artists are built for exactly this — pre-loaded with songs your crowd will know.
House parties and social gatherings
Skip the awkward playlist debates. A music bingo game gets everyone listening to the same tracks and gives them something to do beyond standing around. Works especially well with themed nights — pick a decade, a genre, or go with a movie soundtrack card.
Team-building and corporate socials
Music bingo breaks the ice without forcing people into awkward conversations. Hand out printed cards or share a game link — our online hosting handles groups up to 2,000, so it scales from a small team lunch to a company-wide event.

What makes music bingo different
In traditional bingo, someone calls numbers. In music bingo (sometimes called “singo”), you play song clips instead. Players listen, recognise the track, and mark it on their card. The first to complete a row, column, or diagonal wins.
The format works because songs carry memories. A few bars of a familiar track gets people singing, laughing, and talking — which is why music bingo consistently outperforms number bingo for engagement at social events.

Tips for a great music bingo game

- Play 10–15 seconds per song, not the full track. Enough for recognition, short enough to keep the game moving. If nobody gets it after 15 seconds, move on.
- Mix decades and genres. A game full of obscure deep cuts frustrates players. Blend well-known hits with a few surprises — aim for 70% recognisable, 30% challenging.
- Build a playlist with more songs than your cards need. If your cards have 24 squares, prepare at least 40 songs. This keeps the game unpredictable and stops multiple people winning on the same round.
- Show album art or song titles on screen as you go. It helps players who can’t quite place a track, and adds a visual element to the game.
- Leave space for singalongs. Some songs demand it. Don’t rush past a crowd favourite — let people enjoy the moment before moving to the next track.
